The Friends of Kennington Park wanted to update the old Victorian rose garden with something more contemporary and manageable by the council. The existing beds were planted up with a range of roses, including old English shrub and species roses as well as a mix of low maintenance shrubs and perennials. Due to the shrubs and perennials, the planting now provides a longer season of colour and interest once the roses themselves have finished flowering.
